Let E-books Energize Your Marketing
One of the best tools in the new marketing frontier is the e-book. Essentially, this is a computer file that is formatted to look like a regular book, but with abilities and qualities that other mediums do not possess. They are viewed on computers, or on various handheld readers like the Kindle or iPad. E-books are instantly available through immediate download to the buyer.
From a cost perspective, e-book production is inexpensive. If you have a great concept, the ability to write it or to hire a writer, and some widely available software, you're in business. Imagine how this empowers people who previously were denied access. Today, you don't need a publisher, an agent, a printing press, offset film, ink, paper, or even a distribution deal.
For marketers, e-books present an entirely new medium for sharing marketing information, ideas, and expert knowledge. This allows you to build your brand, further solidify your status as an expert, and generate leads for your products or serrvices. E-books are also an excellent way to spread ideas, engage conversations and generate demand.
With all of these positives what's the bad news? There really isn't any! From a growth perspective e-books are booming. Millions of authors are now able to realize their dream to have their work published cheaply and without editorial barriers to entry. In a future post I'll look at some of the revenue being generated in the e-book industry.
